The Little School Circus 2014!

We had an absolutely wonderful day at the annual Little School Circus! The weather was beautiful, the children excited and ready, and all of you wonderful parents, family and friends gathered under the big top to watch the magic unfold.

We had ringmasters, prancing ponies, lion tamers, acrobats and so much more! We loved sharing this with you all and creating all these special memories together.

Below is a collage of photo highlights from the day! Enjoy!

Mother’s Day Tea at The Little School of Waldwick!

TLC_Tea0919

On Wednesday, May 7th, The Little School graduating class treated their mothers to an elegant brunch and performance.

Students sang songs filled with words of love for all their mothers to show their appreciation. Our students created special handmade hats and necklaces for the mommies to wear during the party. The walls were adorned with decorations made by the children, including a hand-drawn portrait of their mom! After their performance, students invited their mommy to sit while they served them muffins, fruit, cheese and crackers, and of course iced tea! A real treat for all of our hard-working, amazing Little School moms!

The Little School’s Director and educational staff strongly believe that there is an important connection between family and school, especially during the early years. As your child’s primary teacher and first educator, a parents role in their child’s early education is critical to their success!

Each year, we celebrate mothers at our Annual Mother’s Day Tea Party, a special event for students of our graduating class.

Cream of The Crop!

Our students are the cream of the crop, and today they were able to enjoy picking some crops of their own from The Little School Garden! Students enjoyed a lesson on seeds and planting. Afterward, students picked their very own eggplants, tomatoes, corn, and string beans.

Summer Campers Travel the Globe!

During the third week of Summer Camp, our campers have been traveling the globe with their imaginations in hand! As the children learned about each continent, they created special “souvenirs’ from the different regions. Campers even created replicas of famous monuments from around the world! Here, two of our campers, Angeliki and Maria, are creating the stone facade on the Arc de Triomphe found in France!

Dear Parents

Today in class your children learned about animals in the arctic. We took them on an arctic adventure with the polar bears. Polar bears are one of the largest predators on Earth.  They were amazed to learn that they can grow up to 10 feet in height.  The students used rulers to measure how high ten feet in height would be. We had “beary” much fun.

Amazing Facts To Discuss With You Kids

*Although large the polar bear is remarkably agile in and out of the water. Polar bears can grow up to 10 feet in height and weigh more than 1,400 pounds.

* Polar bears have a very acute sense of smell: they can smell carrion, such as a dead whale, from 20 miles away.

* The black nose of a polar bear on the snow can be seen from six miles away on a clear day through binoculars.  It has been said that, when stalking seals, he polar bear will cover its nose with a paw to escape detection.
