We absolutely LOVE the Little School of Waldwick. I recommend this preschool to everyone I know. I have sent both of my children there and can not give everyone there enough praise. They are so loving and caring my children love going to school everyday and come home bragging about all of the wonderful things they have learned. My daughter went onto kindergarten with a huge advantage and it’s all thanks to The Little School. I know see my son following in her footsteps.
The Little School of Waldwick is an amazing place where enthusiastic, caring teachers instruct and guide in a creative, nurturing, and fun-filled environment. Fostering creativity is impotant to me at this stage. As soon as you step foot in TLS, you will see how Mrs. Maria and her dedicated staff of teachers have created a magical, inspiring place for children to enjoy and thrive while learning. Our twin girls simply love going to school there. They look forward to going to school and love there teachers. My husband and I always talk about how it’s going to be a really sad day when girls leave TLS for kindegarten. Good news is we have 1 more year left!
My twin girls are students at The Little School of Walkwick, and I can say that there are probably other pre-schools that are very good, there is no school that is better than The Little School. The owner and teachers ensure that each child learns globally as well as specifically depending on the child’s needs. The productions — thanksgiving show, winter show, and annual circus to name a few — provide the children with a wonderful learning experience and self-esteem. The learning environment is fun and supportive. Our children look forward to going to school, and have grown tremendously. Letter and number recognition, vocabulary, well-rounded knowledge, coloring, attention, focus, etc. I cannot say enough.
The Little School of Waldwick is definitely the best preschool around. Both my niece and nephew went there and are both ahead of the learning curve now.
We started sending my daughter this year and she absolutely loves it. She enjoys going to school everyday to see her teachers and friends. It is amazing to see how much she has learned and her progress so far.

The Little School was an extension our family. Not only did they always feel loved, they were challenged to try new things. They developed a love for learning that cannot be replaced. My favorite story is the anatomy project. At 5, the entire class created paperbag “bodies” with a set of lungs, stomach and bladder, veins, etc. made of plastic bags and strings. They could blow in a straw and make the lungs blow up or drop a nickel down to the stomach. One day in the summer, the kids were playing doctor. My 5 year old took a marker and drew all the parts on my younger son’s back. I couldn’t believe he remembered it months later. The neighbor saw what he did and said, “That kid’s going to be a doctor!”
The little School of Waldwick is the best preschool in the area. My children thrived there and were more than ready for kindergarten. Miss Maria and her staff provide such a warm and loving learning environment. The hours are flexible and the curriculum is varied and fun for the kids.I can’t imagine going anywhere else.
I cannot say enough positive things about the Little School of Waldwick. Our son was at another local preschool where he was painfully shy and introverted. They did not know how to handle him so the teachers basically ignored him. I found the Little School and from day one they transformed my son’s preschool experience. The teachers and staff have been so patient, caring, attentive and creative and it has made all the difference. He loves going to school now and is thriving both academically and socially. The ultimate compliment…We love the Little School so much we are actually paying to keep our son there this year for kindergarten instead of sending him to kindergarten at a Ridgewood public elementary school. It really is THAT special of a place.
The Little School of Waldwick is by far the best preschool/daycare out there. It offers a full educational curriculum while the children play all day long. I have my 3rd child there now who is thriving as well as my 2 older boys did while in attendance. My boys both read early and gained a lot of confidence both academically and socially which I wholly attribute to the Littke School. They are amazing at making each child and his/her parent feel important and well attended to. Ms. Maria and her staff are special beyond words.
Our son entered The Little School in 2009 and as he graduated this spring, we could not be happier with how far he had come both academically and socially. When I first toured The Little School and met with the school director, Maria Stavrou, and her staff, I knew I came to the right place. Her passion for education, her enthusiasm and commitment to the children under her care, and her cheerful and warm personality truly permeates through the school and her wonderful teaching staff do mirror and share that enthusiasm and you can tell that they truly care about what they do. It isn’t just a job, it’s a calling! We strongly recommend the school to all parents looking for a good preschool where your children will not only learn so much but also be very well taken care of. We will miss The Little School and we can’t thank Maria Stavrou and her team enough for what they have done for our son all these years!
